Description:

Life can be unexpected, love unwavering, and laughter a powerful balm. In his third poetry collection, …this thing called Life, Andrew Smith invites readers into the profound journey of life after his wife’s catastrophic stroke—a journey that redefined family, love, and resilience. Through verses of humor, raw honesty, and deep affection, he paints a vivid portrait of his family’s life as they embrace both the sorrows and joys in ...this thing called Life.

. …this thing called Life is a testament to the endurance of the human spirit, an exploration of what it means to keep going when life turns upside down, and a celebration of all that makes life worth living.

"Beautiful... Andrew reflects on the life he is grateful to have vs the life he'd planned."
--Bernadette Rhodes, poet

Author Details:

Andrew Smith is a certified professional accountant and chartered accountant, author, speaker, and husband to the amazing Janise. He has a high-energy, rambunctious personality, and is known for his infectious sense of humour combined with an unmissable, hearty and loud, evil-villain type of laugh. His humour kept him sane while he supported his wife and family through the shock of her sudden disability. But it was his love for her that helped him work with their professional team to teach her to walk, talk, and dance again. They live in Toronto, Canada with their youngest son.
